Encompassing 287 hectares (710 acres) site currently houses over 16,000 animals from over 491 different species. The Toronto Zoo is the largest zoo in Canada; one of the largest and the best zoos on earth.
It is divided into 7 zoogeographic regions: Indo-Malaya, Africa, Americas, Tundra Trek, Australasia, Eurasia, and the Canadian Domain.
